FAQ

London rental search: your questions answered

Can’t find what you’re looking for?Talk to our team.

  • What does a rental search agent do?

A rental search agent works for the tenant: understanding your brief, searching and pre-viewing homes, advising on areas and helping you secure a tenancy on clear terms.

  • Can I rent in London before I arrive?

Often, yes. Video viewings and our written notes allow many clients to agree a home remotely. Some landlords prefer to meet first, and we will tell you when that applies.

  • What documents will a landlord ask for?

Usually identity, right-to-rent evidence, proof of income or employment and references. If you are new to the UK we explain the alternatives some landlords accept.

  • Can tenants be charged fees in England?

Most letting fees to tenants are banned in England under the Tenant Fees Act. Our rental search is a separate service you choose to use, and its cost is agreed with you in writing first.

  • Do you help with schools as well?

Yes. School options can shape where you rent, so we can include them in the search brief and coordinate with our relocation desk.

  • How long does a rental search take?

It depends on your budget, area and timing. We agree a realistic plan with you at the start rather than promising a fixed number of days.

  • Can my employer pay for the search?

Yes. Many searches are part of a company relocation. We can invoice your employer and report progress to HR if you wish.
