FAQ

Finance introductions: your questions answered

Can’t find what you’re looking for?Talk to our team.

  • Can a non-resident get a mortgage in the UK?

Some UK lenders lend to non-residents and expats, usually with stricter criteria than for UK residents. A regulated broker can tell you which lenders may consider your case.

  • Do you give mortgage advice?

No. Belgrave does not give mortgage advice. We introduce you to regulated brokers, and any advice or recommendation comes from them.

  • How much deposit will I need?

It varies by lender, residency, income and property. The broker will set out what applies to you; we do not quote figures.

  • Does it matter that I am paid in another currency?

It can affect which lenders will consider you and on what terms. Mention it when you enquire so we introduce the right specialist.

  • Is there a cost for the introduction?

Our property finance desk is typically paid a procuration fee by the lender, with an optional client fee only on bespoke or smaller mandates by arrangement. The broker will disclose their own fees to you.

  • Should I arrange finance before I start viewing?

It helps. Knowing your borrowing range early keeps the search realistic and shows sellers you can proceed.

  • Can you help if I am buying with cash instead?

Yes. Cash purchases still need evidence of the source of funds. We explain what will be asked for at the start.
