Bridging Loan
Short-term, interest-only finance used to 'bridge' a funding gap — for example to complete a purchase before an existing property sells or longer-term finance is arranged.

Mortgage
A loan secured against property, typically used to finance a purchase. The borrower repays the loan and interest according to agreed terms, with the property providing security for the lender.
